The company’s mission is to merge materials science, precision physics, and industrial applications to create the next generation of actuators, micron-sized, intelligent devices that can both move and sense. These breakthrough technologies open new horizons in robotics, energy systems, smart infrastructure, medicine, and even the space industry.
The company was officially established in 2024 in Dolní Břežany, a unique scientific hub south of Prague, Czech Republic. This location was chosen strategically, as it stands at the heart of the STAR Region, an innovation cluster that brings together world-class research institutes, high-tech R&D centers, and visionary startups.
The company was founded by renowned physicist Prof. Dr. Rastislav Varga, a scientist with more than 3,000 citations and a track record of pioneering deep-tech ventures. Rastislav Varga previously established RVmagnetics, a company that developed the world’s smallest passive magnetic microsensors, today used by Fortune 500 corporations such as Airbus, Continental, Schaeffler, and TATA. Building on this legacy of innovation, he launched RVactuators to push the boundaries of actuation technology.
The headquarters in Dolní Břežany enables close collaboration with the Czech Academy of Sciences and direct access to cutting-edge facilities, such as the ELI Beamlines laser center, the HiLASE Centre, and BIOCEV. More than just a base, Dolní Břežany offers the ideal ecosystem for deep-tech ventures: a vibrant mix of scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators, supported by EU-backed programs and a local government committed to research and entrepreneurship.
For Prof. Varga, RVactuators represents more than just another startup. It is the continuation of his lifelong mission: to bring groundbreaking scientific discoveries into real-world use, protecting lives, transforming industries, and engineering the future.
