Rastislav Varga founded RVactuators in 2024 in the Czech Republic as his second company, following RVmagnetics in Košice, where he continues to serve as Chief Technology Officer. He is a leading expert in magnetic amorphous, nanocrystalline, and Heusler materials, primarily in glass-coated MicroWires, with over three decades of experience in fundamental and applied research in condensed matter physics. Since 2015, he has bridged academic research and industrial innovation, contributing to the development of next-generation microsensor technologies based on magnetic principles.
Prof. Varga’s academic credentials include a DrSc. in Condensed Matter Physics and extensive international postdoctoral experience at institutions such as ICMM CSIC - The Madrid Institute of Materials Sciences and Universidad del País Vasco in San Sebastián. He has led and co-supervised multiple PhD theses under cotutelle agreements with leading European universities Université Paris-Sud, Universidad del País Vasco, University of Oviedo. He has served on numerous international doctoral committees. He was also working as a leading scientist at the Institute of Physics at the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, where he conducted advanced research in the field of magnetism, focusing on the structural and magnetic properties of soft magnetic materials, mainly in the shape of microwires.
